Gender and Human Security – Using a gender perspective on the peace and conflict situation in the South of Thailand, this research examines the case of the widows ™ village, known as Baan Rotan Batu, which is located in Narathiwat province. The researcher finds that women in this village continue to experience serious challenges to their human security across all 7 indicators, including economic hardships due to their becoming the primary breadwinners for their households and the post-traumatic health issues they suffer due to the violence and threat of armed conflict.
