Having both ratified the Convention of the Rights of the Child, Myanmar and Vietnam currently face challenges in tourism development with regards to children ™s rights, particularly among child workers and on issues of child labor and sexual abuse. The lack of effective policies and gaps within the existing legal framework for the protection of children, are especially notable with regard to the responsibilities of tourist businesses and companies. In order to address the negative impacts of tourism development on children ™s rights, necessary measures include amending the legal framework for the protection of children ™s rights in the tourism industry, strengthening monitoring mechanisms, and creating awareness programs on children ™s rights.
